WHO WE ARE

MIKAEL FRÖDIN

FOUNDER | PRODUCT INNOVATION

Pioneer of the Scandinavian style and founder of the Frödinflies brand back in 1985, Mikael’s unparalleled fly fishing and fly tying experience is the foundation for all product development at Frödinflies. Mikael is constantly seeking new ways to push the limits of the sport, through the testing of new tackle and new techniques, and alongside this a large portion of his time and effort over the past decade has gone into wild salmon conservation, and the fight for sustainable ecosystems.

JAKOB FRÖDIN

FOUNDER | BRAND / MARKETING / WEB

Jakob is Mikael’s youngest son, and in 2016 they founded the new Frödinflies company together. Jakob was born into a life of fly fishing and fly tying, landing his first 20 lbs salmon at the age of just 8 years old, and the tradition runs deep to this day; Jakob is the brand visionary, promoting the ‘Frödinflies way’ of fly fishing and fly tying for enthusiasts all around the world.

PETER HUBER

DESIGN / ART DIRECTION

A long-term friend of the family, over the years Peter has been fundamental in the development of the Frödinflies brand, contributing everything from logotypes and typography to photography and product design. With an unwavering passion for sports and nature, his design DNA has helped to shape the Scandinavian outdoor industry as we know it today.

LUDVIG KALM

OPERATIONS / LOGISTICS / SERVICE

Ludvig, or “Ludde” for short, joined the company in 2018, as a graduate of the Sport Fishing program at the Forshaga Academy of Nature Tourism, and is now the backbone of Frödinflies operations, with responsibility for logistics and customer service. With a broad interest in fishing, he has landed more species than most people can even dream of – however, over the past year a new challenge has climbed to the top of his list; to finally land an Atlantic salmon on a fly.

THOMAS BERGGREN

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT, RODS & REELS

Similarly to Mikael, Thomas also dedicated his life to fly fishing at an early age. Working together in the industry since the 80’s, they naturally became close friends, and shared many memories. Thomas is today Sweden’s most accredited casting instructor, with the highest accreditation possible for both single- and double handed casting. Bringing almost four decades of experience in tackle development to the table, Thomas now fully devoted his time to the engineering and production of the SALAR series of fly rods and fly reels.

JOHAN ANNERFELT

PHOTOGRAPHY

A close friend of Peter Huber, Johan first began joining the Frödinflies fishing expeditions a number of years ago. Known for his absolute professionalism, for decades Johan has been delivering world-class imagery for high-profile clients across a wide range of industries. Johan’s unconventional way of capturing fly fishing through his own artistic and philosophical lens has helped breathe life into the soul of the Frödinflies brand.

MARCUS THOMASSON

FILM PRODUCTION

Marcus was introduced to the team in 2019 by SALAR team member Daniel Persson. Growing up in the north of Sweden, Marcus’ early fly fishing and fly tying activities had naturally been inspired by Mikael, and the wheel of life has now come full circle, with Marcus now being responsible for producing all Frödinflies films. Marcus’ effortless style of film-making is today helping connect tens of thousands of people around the world with the Frödinflies message.
