Bolstad Opening 2023 – Perseverance Pays Off
Join us on the opening days of one of the most classic rivers of all time – the mighty Vosso. The lower stretch is home to more stories about battles with giant fish than maybe anywhere else; the Bolstad beat. A fish wasn't considered truly big until it tipped the scales at 60 lbs, with 40 and 50 lbs catches being a regular occurrence, and even some enormous salmon exceeding 70 lbs. Though the river has diminished over time, mainly due to the catastrophic farms out in the narrow fjord, and is now merely a shadow of what it used to be, it still hosts some impressive fish in its classic pools. Despite challenging conditions with brutal temperatures and high pressure, reaching 30°C under a merciless sun, our relentless pursuit of the perfect drift finally paid off in the end.
