FRÖDINFLIES
SERIOUS ABOUT SALMON FISHING
EST. SWEDEN 1985
Mikael Frödin laid the foundation for the modern Frödinflies brand in Sweden back in 1985. Mikael was an early convert to salmon and sea trout fly fishing, and soon came to dedicate his life to the sport. He was part of a group of guides travelling the world, constantly experimenting with new tackle and new techniques which gradually developed into what we know today as the ‘Scandinavian style’ of fly fishing and fly tying. In 2016, together with his son Jakob, Mikael cemented the brand with the launch of the new Frödinflies company – a unique, independent platform for product innovation, drawing on a lifetime of experience gained on the river.

Delving into Mikael’s fishing journal reveals that he has spent over 6.000 days on rivers around the world, landing salmon, sea trout and steelhead in their thousands. This extraordinary depth of experience is the foundation on which Frödinflies’ success has been built.
Four decades of fly fishing innovation...
THE FIGHT FOR THE WILD SALMON
Without sustainable ecosystems, the art of fly fishing is at risk of being lost forever – we need to fight for free-flowing rivers and healthy wild fish stocks! The untamed wilderness needs to remain wild and untamed, and flourish as a natural resource for generations of anglers to come.
