First days – difficult!
Getting to Alta’s always special. This magical place on earth. The River where it still regularly taken salmon over 50 lbs! This year, it is reported on two salmon over 55 lbs - absolutely amazing. This year, however, as in so many other places in Norway a bad salmon year. We went down to the camp and the fishing was soon started. I, Ole Johan, Pål and Dag Olav. I fished in Tormod Leinans boat. The first sessions gave some grilse and it soon became clear that there were few large salmon in Sautso. I took out my single handed rood and took second day several nice grilse on small skated flies - fun. But it’s not for the grilse we fish Alta. I continued with relatively large flies and sinking lines in various densities - all to find a real big salmon.
