“Fiskeforum” Conference for Sport Fishing Tourism
Fiskeforum is a conference with and for the sport fishing community. This year the theme was sport fishing tourism. His Majesty The King of Sweden attended and I must thank him for supporting us in the fight for our Swedish ecosystem and wild fish. There were many speakers, The King opened followed by the Minister Jennie Nilsson. Then the general directors of the agricultural ministry, sea and water ministry and the ministry for domestic growth. There was an extremely knowledgeable series of speakers with scientists and governmental expertise. All Swedish parties were also represented – it’s the year of the salmon so the second day was more or less only a day about salmon and possibilities for Swedish salmon fishing tourism and the problems and possibilities.
I myself spoke about my international experience of salmon fishing tourism and how Sweden must adapt and change to a sustainable ecosystems and wild fish to compete. I made my points and got positive feedback which is of course nice. I ended my speech with showing the Artifishal trailer – the new Patagonia film that will in a clear way tell us how hard hatcheries and fish farming is ramming our wild stocks of fish. The speeches will shortly be able to be seen on “Fiskeriverkets” YouTube channel.
