Today I headed off upstream. A bit cocky perhaps to think that my 1200 grains Deep water express, super flies and trix could tame Falls pool – how wrong I was! Like a young schoolboy I was standing there with my cap in my hand and capitulated to the great power of the water. We fished our way down the stream and to be honest I think Golden pool was the only spot where we had an honest chance. Only a few kelts today again. To our great joy ”Big Dave” landed the first new fish for the year. A good-looking 6 kg from Julians. The river is still rising but as a comfort so is the temperature. The forecast is saying more sunshine and all of a sudden everything seems a lot brighter.
