Bolstad river day 1!
At last I came, however, to this legendary big salmon river -Vosso. Here it has been more salmon over 60 lbs caught than perhaps anywhere in the world. Near extinction of the fishfarmibng industry, the stock now reintroduced from the gene bank. Smolt was towed in cages past the deadly sealice populations in the fjord and the salmon return in large numbers! The evidence is clear - either the river or the sea is the problem - it’s in the fjord fish are dying!
The first day I fished me down through a couple of the pools, a few carefull takes in brilliant sunshine was all I managed to get. Lost a 25 lbs in the tail of Öynahölen - close! But it’s great to be here - magic!
